supporting NASA Glenn Research Center as the 3D Modeling Intern
In spring 2024, I worked at NASA Glenn Research Center as a 3D model and texture artist in the NASA Graphics and Visualization Lab (GVIS).
This position challenged me to trust my creative capabilities, collaborate with professionals outside of my field, and helped me grow my communication skills.
Role 3D Modeling Intern
Team NASA Graphics and Visualization Lab
Duration 12 Weeks
Skills 3D modeling, texturing, and animation; optimization, virtual reality development, video production, public engagement
As part of the Electrified Powertrain Flight Demonstration (EPFD) project, NASA and partners are creating hybrid-electric variants of select aircraft.
I used Blender and Substance Painter to create a 3D model for use in video and virtual reality visualizations.
Created an animation showcasing how generative design is used on the EXCITE project at NASA Goddard.
Featured on the NASA Website and in CDFAM Computational Design Symposium 2024.
SUSAN (SUbsonic Single Aft eNgine) is a concept aircraft being developed at NASA Glenn Research Center.
I was tasked with updating the SUSAN model from old CAD, optimizing it for VR applications, and creating an animation to showcase the technology of SUSAN and promote sustainable aviation to the public.
In 2024, I represented NASA's Graphics and Visualization Lab to FOX 8 Cleveland, showcasing NASA's Glenn's virtual reality capabilities.
